The other week, the Moynihan Academic Freedom Teaching Coalition gathered in person for the first of several panel discussions exploring the role of academic freedom in higher education.
Before the public event, the Academic Freedom Fellows convened to begin developing a pilot undergraduate course on academic freedom that will launch at The City College of New York and scale to public higher education institutions nationwide.
During the panel, the fellows shared their personal and professional journeys, reflecting on what academic freedom means in their countries of origin and in America today. The discussion opened to audience members, who shared their own perspectives with the panelists.
Thank you Dr. Felix Kaputu, Dr. Seyed Masoud Noori, Dr. Homeira Qaderi, and Dr. Verónica Zubillaga for joining us and sharing your insights!
