Yesterday, the Moynihan Center, in collaboration with the Master's Program in International Affairs, the Colin Powell School, and the Anne and Bernard Spitzer Chair in Political Science, welcomed authors Jonathan Blake and Nils Gilman to Shepard Hall to discuss their new book, “Children of a Modest Star: Planetary Thinking for an Age of Crises.” The conversation was moderated by Professor Nicholas Rush Smith in front of an enthusiastic audience of Moynihan Public Service Fellows and CCNY students.
Blake and Gilman drew on intellectual history, political philosophy, and earth science to reimagine the role of governing institutions in combatting multi-layered planetary crises. After their presentation, students had the opportunity to engage with the authors through a Q&A session followed by a reception. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
