City Council Members Farias, Hanif, and Williams Visit the Moynihan Center

The public service leaders of today met the public service leaders of tomorrow for a candid conversation about leadership and representation

On Wednesday, February 21st, our Moynihan Public Service Fellows had the opportunity to engage with three dynamic NYC Council Members: Amanda Farias (District 18, Bronx), Shahana Hanif (District 39, Brooklyn), and Nantasha Williams (District 27, Queens). Moderated by Moynihan Center Leader-in-Residence Sayu Bhojwani, the panel discussion served as an insightful exploration into the council members' pathways, challenges, and triumphs within the field of public service.

Dr. Bhojwani skillfully guided the conversation, delving into the intricacies of their journeys and providing our fellows with a firsthand look at the realities and nuances of public service. The candid conversation not only broadened the perspectives of our fellows, but also inspired them as the council members' personal experiences resonated deeply.

Many thanks to Council Members Farias, Hanif, and Williams for visiting City College and making an impression on the public service leaders of the future! Additionally, we extend our congratulations to Council Member Farias on her recent appointment as Majority Leader of the City Council.
